The Parish of the Church of the Holy Royal Martyrs of Russia in Sparks, Nevada, Celebrates its Patronal Feast

On Sunday, July 16, His Grace THEODOSY Bishop of Seattle presided over the celebration of the Patronal Feast of the Church of the Holy Royal Martyrs of Russia in Sparks, Nevada.

Concelebrating with His Grace were the rector of the church, Archpriest Andrei Kudryavtsev, Preist Aurelius Zmeu (Holy Resurrection Church, North Highlands, California, Romanian OCA) and Priest John Logero (Church of St. Andrew the First-Called, Western American Diocese, Carson City).

The temple was overflowing with all the parishioners and guests. After the Divine Service, a festive dinner was offered, which was distinguished by its abundance and joyous spirit.

The Feast continued on Monday, July 17 - on the very day of remembrance of the Holy Royal Martyrs of Russia – when the Divine Liturgy began at 9:30 in the morning. Concelebrating with the Father Rector were Archpriest Pavel Volmensky (Holy Ascension Church of Sacramento, California), Priest John Logero, and Priest Elijah Drake-Wu (All Saints of America Church of Lodi, California). At the end of the liturgy, a cross-procession and a festive meal followed. Although it was a weekday, 32 people took part in the celebration.

It should be noted that the parish is growing as many local, non-Russian-speaking Americans are humbly requesting to become members of the Holy Orthodox Church.
